COHVCO, TPA, and CORE comment submission on the Lower North-South Vegetation Plan. This is a long document (17 pages) but does express our concerns with the fire mitigation plan that will impact much of the single track riding area in Rampart Range and North Divide.

The Forest Service proposes to use vegetation treatments such as tree thinning, prescribed burning, and/or other fuel reduction methods on appx. 116,600 acres to reduce the intensity of fires and create healthier forest conditions.

Project area is in the foothills of the Colorado Front Range, east of the town of Shawnee, south of Conifer, west of Sedalia, and north of Woodland Park

Districts: Pikes Peak Ranger District, South Platte Ranger District

HB180 Education Requirements

Beginning Jan. 1, 2023, Utah will require all OHV operators to complete the Utah Off-Highway Vehicle Education Course. Operators under the age of 18 shall possess a youth OHV education certificate in order to operate an OHV on public land, road or trail. Operators 18 years of age or older may operate an OHV if they possess an approved adult OHV education certificate. The test will be available beginning January 1, 2023.
