Our September meeting had 24 members turn out.  If you have not come to one of our meetings, you are missing out on some great socializing and bench racing.

We now have 90 members and have several who have signed up as Lifetime members!  We appreciate your support!!!!

We've decided to do two fall colors rides next month: one adventure/street ride and one for dirt bikes.  Check out the events on our calendar and sign up today!

CMTRA Fall Colors Adventure Ride - 10/1/2023

CMTRA Fall Colors Dirt Bike Ride - 10/7/2023

Both should be fun rides and should be when the aspens are changing color.

We have not formally scheduled any fall work days.  We still have signs to erect at various locations, and the Forest Service is forecasting some work at various locations in our riding area, but nothing has been formalized.  There is more info on the meeting slides.  If anything solidifies, we'll let you know.

Bret Williamson provided a slide show recap of our support for the APEX bicycle race event.  The excess racer "party favors" we had up on the trail were shared with our members who attended the meeting.  You can see those photos here:  2023 APEX Bicycle Race Support

Although we didn't talk about it, we did have a good turnout for our Adventure Ride up Pikes Peak back on 13 August 2023.  The day was perfect and the scenery extraordinary!  You can view photos from that ride here:  Pikes Peak Adventure Ride 2023

We discussed the Penrose Commons RAMP which was recently released.  If you want to view it, here's a link:   Penrose Commons RAMP Final

Bret elaborated on the Bear Creek/Mays Peak illegal trail issue.  Since this trail is right in our Capt Jacks trail 665 system, he pointed out that it is an unauthorized trail and that CMTRA did work with the FS in June 2017 to close off the entrance at High Drive.

Our member spotlight was Jerry Hanson.  Jerry is an avid motorcyclist and has been all his life.  He loves riding his 2015 Beta 300RR Race Edition.  He also has a Suzuki VStrom and enjoys riding it as well.  Ride on, Jerry!!!

Lastly, we took a group photo of everyone at the meeting.  We were asked by PPORA to provide them with such a photo.  Perhaps this one will suffice:

See you next month:  11 Oct 2023.

Be sure to check out our Forum section on our club webpage.  Log in to our website and you will see a menu option,
FORUMS.  Good place to find out where and when club members are riding.  Feel free to add your own posts.  There are several categories.  These posts are for members only, as non-members will not have that menu option if viewing our webpage.

We've enacted a points system for various categories this year to encourage member participation.  Here are the current categories:

We are keeping a spreadsheet of all points earners and at the end of the year, we will recognize our top points earners in some method still TBD.  We'd like to give out some prizes.  Could be worth $$$.

We'd also like you to keep track of any hours you spend in support of the club or club activities, including attending any outside meetings supporting OHV trails.  We'll log those as volunteer hours for our 2023 submission to the State.

The T-Shirts are still available for purchase ($25).  We have plenty available.  Get yours now!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your leadership team.  We are always available to answer any questions.
