GMUG Draft Forest Plan Release

Hello again friends and neighbors,

At long last!

After years of all our work and input, the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison (GMUG) National Forests will publish the draft revised forest plan and draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) on Friday August 13^th,

2021. This will initiate a formal 90-day comment period that will conclude on November 11^th, 2021. All materials for the draft revised forest plan and DEIS will be published at the Forest Plan webpage:

Stay tuned for more announcements on an upcoming series of virtual webinar and open house events. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the plan, ask questions and engage with Forest Service staff.

Hi Again!

The GMUG national forest is excited to host a virtual webinar series to provide an introduction to the Draft Forest Plan. We will give an overview of the planning process and the plan alternatives on Tuesday August 17^th and delve deeper into key issues identified by the public on Thursday August 19^th. Your questions and feedback are welcome!

Additionally, dates have been selected for virtual open houses in September. Stay tuned to the forest webpage and social media for updates and Zoom links. The GMUG will be hosting a virtual open house event for each ranger district. Please stop in and engage with the planning team and district staff. It may also be an opportunity to hear from your county commissioners about their engagement in the planning process.
