Trail Maintenance on Nelsons Trail (672) on Mt Rosa

About this event
We'll need several volunteers. Work will begin from Frosty's Park at the intersection of Forest Service Rd. 379 and Nelsons trail #672.(west) side.
Vehicles can be driven to the Frosty's Park intersection, but work on the trail will require hiking up trail #672. We'll be moving rocks, trees (if necessary), shoring up water breaks, and creating more visible riding lines to reduce the braiding of this trail.
Ultimately, the goal is not to make this trail easy, but to keep its more difficult character while addressing the erosion and widening of the trail in sections where it has become very extreme in nature. The intent is to provide visible "lines" through the tough sections.
The trail was never intended to be the "hard enduro" extreme trail it has become. By improving its rideability, this will add a reasonably challenging (not extreme) 6 mile loop to the Capt. Jacks traditional 701/668 loop.
September 28th is also National Public Lands Day, so come join us on this workday for our contribution! https://www.nps.gov/subjects/npscelebrates/public-lands-day.htm
We'll be giving club points to our volunteers for this event, so sign up soon!
