We are currently in Stage 2 fire restrictions throughout our local riding area.  Please do your part to help prevent forest fires.  The fire down south has pretty much wiped out our riding area around Lake Isabel and Squirrel Creek.  Our nearby local trails are still open to ride, but the area is very dry and could easily go up in smoke due to careless behavior.

Want to get involved?  We are looking for someone to step up and be our Project Manager for the Penrose Commons grant project in 2027.  Your Executive Team can handle this, but it is a perfect opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to our club.  Contact Mark Miquelon if interested.

We had a very busy month in June and we appreciate all the club members who came out to support our workdays and events.  We had 23 volunteers help out!  This is what being in a club is all about.  Thank you.

Our only scheduled workday in July is on the 22nd, a Wednesday.  We plan to help Rocky Mountain Field Institute, RMFI, pack in supplies to Jones Park on the Captain Jacks trail system.  This entails carrying up some packs and tools for them on our motorcycles.  We ride up from the trailhead and meet the RMFI folks at High Drive.  We load up and ride with the extra packs up to the Jones Park junction.  Keep in mind, you'll be riding up with a bit more weight than normal.

We've been working with our local Forest Service reps in the Rainbow Falls area, and we've mapped out 14 miles of new trail to hopefully connect our North Divide trail system to the 770 trail system up north, all via new single track trails.  This is a work in progress and will take a few years to complete, but we are making progress.  Stay tuned...we are calling this the Keystone Project.

Wanna ride to the top of Pikes Peak?  We are planning a club ride to the top for Sunday, 16 August.  You'll need a licensed motorcycle, a timed reservation, and a ticket to enter.  We'll send out more specific details in an email, but mark your calendars now.  We did a similar ride back in 2023 and it was really fun and the views were spectacular.  Dust off your dual sport, adventure or street bike.  If you want to learn more about driving up Pikes Peak, check out their webpage here:  Pikes Peak

We may try to ride over in the Salida/Sargents area the weekend of 22-23 August.  This would be a dirt bike and maybe a dual sport ride up in the mountains.  We'll put something out about that via email as well.

Anyone still want a Klim jersey?  Tad is looking to get 10 members to sign up and he'll put in another order.
